I received a Bachelor’s degree in English from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA. After graduating, I moved to Henderson, where I first worked as a Young People’s Library Page at the Green Valley Library and a Teller at Bank of America. When an opportunity to work full-time as a Young People’s Library Assistant came about, I didn’t hesitate to pursue the position. This job afforded me the opportunity to use my BA in English and keep up with current computer-based technology, which I have always enjoyed working with. It was immediately obvious that this was the field I belonged in and the direction my career should take. I have had several mentors in the library and they encouraged me to get my degree in Library Science. I applied for academic leave from the library district and am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Library Science at the University of Arizona in Tucson. When not working or studying, I enjoy reading, spending time with close friends, hiking, kayaking and visiting the nation’s parks.
